Self Love
Self love, for some people, is not as simple as just saying ‘I will love myself’, ‘I am worthy of love’, ‘I am loved’. It’s not just about giving yourselves a set of instructions and statements for your mind to enforce.
Self love is a process, and a journey — and meditation is a technique that can guide us along this self discovery.
Meditation nurtures self awareness. By accessing our true self and developing this awareness, we are able to connect to our true self and see beyond beliefs that don’t serve as well.
Meditation isn’t about ‘putting the stress aside’, ‘forgetting stress’, ‘try to not think about it’ and ‘quieten the mind’.
Meditation is an experience that leads us to self love through nurturing awareness.
When we experience ourselves in an expanded state of self awareness, with the willingness to accept ourselves as we are, meditation helps move us past the state of limiting beliefs about who we are and how we should be. This allows us to connect with the direct experience of our true self. And who we are is beautiful.
We won’t just be saying or trying to love ourselves at a surface level, but truly addressing what is causing lack of self love on a deeper level.
This self awareness is an experience that will naturally encourage self love.
Besides developing self awareness, we also become aware of the whole of Life, and how we connect and relate to all of Life. This awareness of interconnectedness is an experience of acceptance and compassion that naturally makes us truly see and love ourselves and all that is around us. Because we are part of it; part of Life sum as a whole.
